We are a charity relying totally on voluntary donations to carry out our work for children in over 190 countries and territories throughout the world (including in New Zealand). It would be incredibly difficult for us to continue our work for children without the dependable income generated by our many generous donors that come on board through street fundraising.

Along with our many partners, we’ve made incredible strides for children such as:

  • The number of deaths among children under five has almost halved since 1990
  • The global number of polio cases has dropped by more than 99% since 1988
  • By 2011, 89% of the global population used an improved drinking source

UNICEF is also the world largest distributor of vaccines and therapeutic foods which means we save more children’s lives than any other organisation. We want to ensure that this positive progress continues by keeping our current donors engaged and attracting new donors.
